Interview with Anna Glogowska

What are your priorities as a SEND professional?

As an experienced teacher working with pupils with complex sensory processing needs I have learned that it is only by understanding those needs that we can create a firm foundation for learning. By addressing the unique profile of each child we can provide the optimum learning conditions which enable pupils to achieve their full potential.

Why should education settings choose EHP?

EHP offers a bespoke service in the areas of health and education integrating support with the school's own skills and understanding. Schools will be able to obtain advice, support and practical solutions from a multi-disciplinary team of highly experienced and knowledgeable professionals.

Describe your approach to students in 3 words.

Engaging, Empathetic, Enabling.

What will you provide that other SEND professionals won't?

In my everyday practice I combine sensory integration theory and positive behaviour support principles to develop a holistic view of students' needs. When planning interventions, identifying students' strengths and motivators will always be a starting point as I believe the learning is only effective when students are engaged and ready for the challenge. As a teacher I understand the need to provide practical, realistic and sustainable solutions to support the learners. I always look for ideas which can be implemented in everyday routines and applied to the classroom environment in a straightforward and simple way.
